Our approach

Money laundering is a threat to our society and can seriously weaken our financial system. Billions of Euros in criminal proceeds are laundered in or through the Netherlands each year. Anti-money laundering is therefore essential, but not easy. Because money laundering takes many forms and transcends national borders. Money laundering has more priority than ever. The media regularly pays attention to the role of gatekeepers who offer financial products. As an alliance of public and private parties, the AMLC has the ambition to continuously improve the fight against money laundering. We do this by bringing together everyone's knowledge and expertise; through projects this can lead to concrete criminal investigations, providing insight into new phenomena, formulating new indicators, etc. In this way, we protect the financial system together. To achieve this, the AMLC is always on the move and focuses on changing goals and circumstances.
